Need to pay your current utility bill?

The City of Newcastle provides water, sewer and garbage services. The city reads all water meters monthly and sends bills at the end of each month for all water, sewer and garbage usage. The charges are from the first to the last day of each month, and payment is due the 15th of the following month.

If the utility account is not paid within 45 days from the billing date, a $20.00 penalty will be assessed and the customer is sent a disconnection notice by mail. To ensure continued utility service, the customer must pay the balance in full prior to the disconnection date listed on the notice.

Opening a utility account

To open an account every customer, prior to receiving water, sewer and/or garbage service from the city, at any premise, shall deposit with the city the sum of one hundred dollars ($100.00) for service to each premises. Each new account has a service charge fee of $15.00 on the first bill.

then $6.00 per 1,000 gallons

Exemption: Summer Sewer Averaging
We average 5 winter months (Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, and Mar)
for residential customers

Water Quality Reports

The City of Newcastle has an automated system. The city will provide the customer black 95-gallon or 300-gallon container(s) when service is started. The garbage container is delivered and placed where it needs to be on the day of collection. You can move your garbage container back to your house after it has been emptied, provided you move it back to the spot on the day of collection (we suggest the night before).
